Book Wizard; Ithaka. By Adele Geras. Grades. Genre. Fiction. In this powerful novel based on a classic tale, Penelope has been waiting years for her husband, Odysseus, to return from war. Convinced that Odysseus is dead, and wanting control of his land, a group of boorish suitors sets up camp at the palace and dema. It says adhere to a goal of life, and live your life trying to achieve that. And even if your Ithaca at the ends seems poor, remember of the journey that it has given you. This is the meaning of life. The Ithaca is yours, the journey is yours, the experiences are yours. #N#Ada Cachafeiro (1/31/ PM) .

The rulers of Ithaka live in a palace built around two courtyards, one leading from the other, like squares joined by covered passages. The white owl comes to rest on a fig tree that grows below Penelope's chamber. This is the only room in the palace where a light is still burning. This is where she is needed. *** Penelope is wide awake.   Simply put, if you buy a book I recommend, a very small percent contributes to the running costs of the blog. Some time ago, a reader of my blog called Rafael recommended me the poem “Ithaca” by Constantine P. Cavafy.
